PUBLIC BID PROCESS:
Since MBTA property is publicly owned, it is subject to a public bid
process. Property that has been determined to be surplus by the MBTA
is appraised, advertised and sealed bids are submitted. These bids are
opened at a specified time and place and the highest responsible and
eligible bidder is awarded the right to purchase the property, subject
to verification.
