Telecommunications Opportunities

WIRELESS: With property in over 178 municipalities, the MBTA offers many excellent locations for wireless cell site locations. In addition, the MBTA has a special arrangement with NSTAR to co-locate on existing utility towers.

FIBER: The MBTA is currently offering vacant fiber optic ducts for immediate occupancy. With over 400 miles of right of way in eastern Massachusetts, the MBTA offers many direct routes for new fiber builds, as well as:

     - Streamlined Approval Process
     - Minimal Construction and Permitting Costs
     - Ability to Span Massachusetts from North to South
     - Access to Trans-Atlantic Connection
     - Redundant Route Opportunities
